Biography
Daniel Toledo is an Ecuadorian jazz bassist, composer, and educator whose work moves between performance, collaboration, and musical leadership across international stages and academic environments.

He holds a Master’s degree in Contemporary Performance from Berklee College of Music and serves as Chair of the Performance Program at the Universidad San Francisco de Quito (USFQ) College of Music, a Berklee Global Partner, where he teaches bass while leading the development of performance initiatives and curriculum.

Toledo began his musical career at the USFQ College of Music, becoming active early in Quito’s jazz scene. In 2010 he won the Jazz Envoys competition, performing with the ensemble at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C.

As a bandleader, he formed the Daniel Toledo Trio in 2013 with Piotr Orzechowski (Pianohooligan) and Joshua Wheatley, recording his debut album Elapse (2014). He later released Atrium (2017) with Orzechowski and Paul Svanberg on the Polish label For Tune. In 2020 he released Fletch, recorded in quartet with Piotr Orzechowski, Kuba Więcek, and Michał Miśkiewicz.

Throughout his career, Toledo has performed and conducted workshops across South America, North America, Asia, and Europe, collaborating with artists including Ted Lo, John Blackwell, Perico Sambeat, Víctor Mendoza, Chico Pinheiro, and Aga Derlak.
He is currently endorsed by Upton Bass and Remic Microphones.
